Update on October 14, 2022: Good evening, Faulkner County. On Thursday, October 13, 2022, Faulkner County Sheriff's Office alerted the community to an ongoing investigation regarding an alleged incident involving a firearm on Mount Vernon-Enola High School property. Faulkner County Sheriff's Office takes allegations of this nature very seriously, and we appreciate your patience as we thoroughly investigate these allegations. Since becoming aware of the alleged incident yesterday, Faulkner County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division has interviewed several witnesses in addition to the person of interest in the investigation. At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that any weapon was brought onto school property. The investigation remains ongoing, however, and we will update the community further should additional information become available. The safety of our students and staff remains a top priority for Sheriff Ryals and all of us at Faulkner County Sheriff's Office. We appreciate your continued patience and support as this investigation continues. 

Original Post on October 13, 2022: Good evening, Faulkner County. During the afternoon hours today, Thursday, October 13, 2022, Faulkner County Sheriff's Office was made aware of an alleged incident involving a firearm on Mount Vernon-Enola High School property. The Mount Vernon-Enola School District has released a statement via email to individuals who are subscribed to the School Messenger Service. This incident is currently under investigation by our office, and the person of interest is prohibited from entering the school campus by school officials until the conclusion of the investigation. As this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
