On Friday, June 19th, 2015 at approximately 1:00 a.m., deputies responded to a one vehicle accident with no injury on Cotton Hill Rd. When deputies arrived, no one was with the vehicle. They attempted to call the owner but the owner never arrived.

The deputies went to 190 Orchard Rd where the owner of the vehicle lived and spoke with the father, Billy Sivils (68). After speaking with the father, he told deputies that his son, Shawn Sivils (33), was downstairs and was the driver of the vehicle that had been in the accident. Billy Sivils went down stairs to get Shawn and came back upstairs and told the deputies that Shawn had a gun to his chin. The father tried to talk through the door to his son, Shawn Sivils shot through the door grazing the father in the side. Deputies took the father to safety when they heard another gunshot. The deputies went back down to clear the room and found Shawn Sivils lying in the floor with a gunshot wound to the head.

Billy Sivils was transported to Conway Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released. Shawn Sivils was taken by Med Flight to the hospital where he is being treated. His wound is not life threatening at this time.

Investigators are still investigating the incident at this time.
