Human Trafficking Awareness Month
01/03/2022
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Human trafficking, also known as trafficking in persons or modern-day slavery, is a crime that involves compelling or coercing a person to provide labor or services, or to engage in commercial sex acts. The United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has been combatting Labor Trafficking utilizing the equal employment opportunity laws it enforces. In honor of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, the EEOC is offering a free webinar on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 11:00am to discuss how equal employment opportunity laws can be used to combat labor trafficking. Actual EEOC cases involving labor trafficking will be discussed on the webinar.
