The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office and Conway Police Department discovered a body in a shallow grave on Saturday September 6^th.  The body of Daniel R. Horton (28) of Conway was reported missing through the Conway Police Department on June 30^th 2014. Investigators from both agencies had been working the missing persons report since the day he was reported missing. Investigators followed leads and were able to obtain a search warrant September 6th for Gary Lee Mallet’s property on Slatey Gap Rd. Damascus, AR. Once the Investigators gained access to the property, they were able to find where the body had been buried.  Daniel R. Horton appeared to have been shot and then buried in a shallow grave on Gary L. Mallet’s property sometime after June 30^th. Daniel Horton was identified by his tattoos by a family member.

The investigators were able to obtain a warrant for Gary L. Mallet (28) through witness statements and he was arrested in Watsford, North Dakota on September 6^th for 1^st Degree Murder and is awaiting extradition.

Gary L. Mallet
