Faulkner County Sheriff's Office Attends MRAP Training

08/02/2019

This week Lieutenant Chad Wooley and Sergeant Chad Pruett along with tactical team members from Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Craighead County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Police Department, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Springdale Police Department, and White County Sheriff’s Office attended a 3-day MRAP/ Armored Vehicle Operations & Immediate Action class. This training opportunity was hosted by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office and instructed by Kurt Delia with Delia Tactical International. Some of the training during those 3 days included maintenance and safety, driving techniques, rapid deployment, victim rescues, water rescues, and off-road navigation.

The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office was fortunate to be issued an International MaxxPro MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) armored vehicle through the Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO) 1033 program. This program allows the transfer of excess Department of Defense property (equipment) to law enforcement agencies across the United States.
The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office will be able to utilize this vehicle for water rescue during flooding and during other natural disasters. The MRAP will also be used to aid in citizen rescues, downed officers, and high-risk search warrants.
