Hero Spotlight: Deputy Juan Rivas

11/02/2025

On October 14, 2025, Deputies Juan Rivas and Tanesha Albert responded to Keathley Drive in Wooster for a report of a missing 3-year-old juvenile female. Deputies were notified that family members had been looking for the missing juvenile for approximately one hour at the time of the call.

Prior to arrival, Deputies Rivas and Albert, along with dispatchers at the Conway Emergency Operations Center, had been mapping the property. Deputy Rivas immediately began directing the scene, leaving Deputy Albert with the family. Deputy Rivas had one family member accompany him to assist in the layout of the property based on the maps. From their diligent work in mapping the property, they were aware of two ponds in the area.

With the assistance of the family member, Deputy Rivas began swiftly searching the area. As he checked his map for the location of the second pond, he heard a splash followed by the cries of a small child. Deputy Rivas immediately ran to the pond and located the child in waist deep water. Fortunately, the child is safe.

The courage and decisive action of Deputy Rivas turned a heartbreaking moment and potential tragedy into a story of heroism. These are your Faulkner County Deputies.
