Good afternoon, Faulkner County! The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Faulkner County, with conditions expected by 1:00am on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Last week, the Faulkner County, Arkansas site provided daily resources to you for Arkansas Flood Safety Awareness Week. Now is the time to ensure you are prepared. Remember, before a flood, you should do the following:

1) Stay informed: Visit weather.gov or tune into your local news for the latest forecast.
2) Determine whether your home, school or work is in an area likely to flood.
3) Learn which roadways are likely to flood and find an alternative route so you can avoid them.
4) Create a communications plan so your family will know how to connect during an emergency.
5) Assemble an emergency kit.
6) Prepare for possible evacuation. Pack your bags and include items for your pets so you are ready to leave at a moment’s notice.
7) Charge all essential electronics.
8)Be Proactive: Leave before the flooding starts to avoid getting stranded.
