During the early morning hours of 10/13/16, Faulkner County Sheriff Deputies were tipped about an Instagram post from a Greenbrier Public School student who stated they were going to shoot up the school. Faulkner County Investigators and Greenbrier Police Department were notified immediately. Through quick investigation, they were able to track down the juvenile at home.  The juvenile was arrested for one count of terroristic threatening and transported to the Faulkner County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Investigators concluded the juvenile did not have an immediate ability to carry out the threat. The juvenile is awaiting first appearance.

Sheriff Matt Rice reminds citizens that law enforcement will act swiftly regarding threats to others, especially threats pertaining to schools or other public areas.  If you notice a suspicious/threatening post or message on social media, please notify law enforcement immediately.
