Scams & Shams Fraud Awareness Presentation: College Square Retirement Community

11/14/2024

Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office wishes to express our appreciation to College Square Retirement Community and Mary Crawford, College Square Event Coordinator, who invited us to speak on Scams, Shams, & Frauds to residents and family. Faulkner County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Sherry Skaggs was joined by Conway Police Department Officer Shaelyn Smith in speaking with residents and answering questions.

Among the most recent scams to be aware of include scam warrant calls. In these calls, the caller has pretended to be an employee of Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office. In some instances, the spammers have spoofed phone numbers claiming to be from Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office. Please do not fall victim to these scams.

Faulkner County Sheriff's Office will never contact individuals via phone regarding arrests or warrants and requesting money or additional personal information. We will also never ask for venmo, cash app, gift cards, or other financial information from you.

If you receive a call similar to this, do not give out personal information or provide money. If you are concerned about the legitimacy of a call you receive, you can always contact us at 501-450-4914 or our Non-Emergency Number 501-328-5906.

Stay safe, Faulkner County!
