FCSO Reserve Unit Launches Drone Program for Enhanced Emergency Operations

10/30/2024

The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office Reserve Unit, in collaboration with Centennial Bank, has acquired a state-of-the-art drone to assist in critical operations such as search and rescue missions, evidence recovery, and disaster management.

“This new technology will save lives by providing first responders with a crucial overhead view of large areas impacted by disasters,” said Reserve Commander Brian Tyner. “In Faulkner County, many rural areas have difficult and often dangerous terrain, making rescue operations hazardous for first responders. With the new drone, we can pinpoint the location of individuals in distress or suspects, reducing the risk to first responders.”

The drone, equipped with advanced camera technology and real-time video transmission capabilities, will play a key role in locating missing persons, assessing damage in disaster zones, and supporting evidence-gathering efforts in crime scenes. It ensures that critical operations can be conducted swiftly and safely, particularly in hard-to-reach or dangerous environments.

This initiative marks a significant upgrade in the county’s emergency management and public safety capabilities, ensuring enhanced safety for both residents and first responders.
