On December 20, 2023, Faulkner County Sheriff's Office notified the community of the arrest of Mikeal Yates for a shooting occurring that day at 515 Hwy 64 E. On December 21, 2023, we updated the community that the victim in that shooting had succumbed to his injuries, causing Mr. Yates' charge to be upgraded to a single count of Capital Murder. 

 

Following a thorough investigation by Faulkner County Sheriff's Office, Mikeal Yates was charged with a second count of Capital Murder on February 12, 2024, in reference to the death of Mr. Bruce Radak on October 12, 2023. At this time, Mr. Yates remains housed in the Faulkner County Detention Center pending additional court appearances on the following charges: Capital Murder (2 Counts), Residential Burglary (1 Count), and Theft of Property (4 Counts). 

 

At this time, no additional information will be provided regarding these cases. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We appreciate the assistance of a multitude of agencies involved with the arrest of Mr. Yates and investigation into these cases.
