Ongoing Investigation: Easterwood Point Road Area Incidents

In light of the recent events in the Easterwood Point Road area of Mayflower and ongoing information being posted via social media by citizens; the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office would like to caution the community against rumors, many of which have included false information. In the interest of transparency and accuracy, the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office wishes to update the community on the facts surrounding the investigation and current status thus far. 
 
On January 22, 2024, at 11:36pm, there was an unsuccessful theft of a motorcycle on Easterwood Point Road.  One individual, Dwayne Dunn, was located by deputies and arrested. Another involved individual fled the scene prior to the arrival of deputies. This Investigation remains ongoing and further criminal charges are expected.
 
On January 23, 2024, at 5:30am, another unsuccessful theft of a motor vehicle was reported on Windsong Way. Faulkner County Sheriff’s Deputies immediately searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. 
 
On January 23, 2024, at 6:29am, a theft from a motor vehicle was reported on Easterwood Point Road. Faulkner County Sheriff’s Deputies have continued extra patrol of the area following this report. 
 
On January 23, 2024, at 3:44pm, an unsuccessful attempt to steal a side-by-side was reported. The suspect was described as wearing a black hoodie, having a long beard, and carrying a big knife and big stick. Faulkner County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene and engaged in a foot chase that was ultimately unsuccessful due to terrain and weather conditions at the time. Multiple deputies and citizens canvased the area but, due to terrain and weather, the suspect was not located. Multiple deputies continued to canvas the area late into the night and early morning. Extra patrol has remained ongoing as well.  
 
On January 24, 2024, at 1:05pm, on Jones Hill Lane, a male subject walked up to a residence and began banging on the door asking to use the phone.  He was described as being in his 60s, 5’6” tall, 130lbs, with long grey hair, wearing a black hoodie and brown pants. The individual was reported walking in the direction of Easterwood Point Road. Witnesses stated that he came from the farm fields, crossing the road and up the ridge of Jones Hill Lane.  Multiple deputies and civilians canvased the area and the ridge, but they were unable to locate the suspect.  
 
As of this morning, January 25, 2024, Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office has located an individual believed to possibly be involved in some of these incidents. However, it has been confirmed that this individual is not the suspect from the January 24, 2024, incident on Jones Hill Lane described in the previous paragraph. 
 
Faulkner County Sheriff’s Deputies continue to provide extra patrol in the area. We ask that, if you see anything suspicious, you please immediately call 911 in the event of an emergency or the non-emergency line at 501-328-5906.  If you live in the area of Easterwood Point Road, Flag Pond Road, Jones Hill Road, or Jones Lane, and you have security cameras, please check them from the dates of January 22, 2024, until the present for suspicious activity and images of the suspect. If you have any information regarding this ongoing investigation, please call the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office or submit a crime tip at www.fcso.ar.gov.  Faulkner County Sheriff’s Deputies will continue saturated patrols in the area to identify this individual. We ask that you relay all known information to law enforcement and avoid participating in spreading false rumors regarding these incidents as false information has the potential to delay or damage the investigation.
