Scam Alert

12/15/2023

Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office is asking local businesses and residents to be on alert for a recent scam. The scammer is calling local businesses pretending to be a Faulkner County Sheriff’s Deputy. The individual is informing business owners and management that employees of the business have been arrested, but, due to Covid-19 concerns, they cannot be held in the detention center. They are being told to work with the “bondsmen”, and, as a result, are being scammed out of thousands of dollars. A local business was recently scammed out of several thousand dollars as a result.

Faulkner County Sheriff's Office will never contact businesses or individuals via phone regarding arrests or warrants and requesting money or additional personal information. We will also never ask for venmo, cash app, gift cards, or other financial information from you.

If you receive a call similar to this, do not give out personal information or provide money. If you are concerned about the legitimacy of a call you receive, you can always contact us at 501-450-4914 or our Non-Emergency Number 501-328-5906.

Stay safe, Faulkner County!
