Deputy DeGood moved from Southern California to Plumerville, Arkansas, with his family when he was a teenager. After graduating from Nemo Vista High School, he moved to Faulkner County, where he has remained since. Deputy DeGood spent approximately seven years with the Army National Guard as an engineer, and he has served one deployment to Afghanistan. Deputy DeGood stated that he has always had an interest in law enforcement and a passion for helping his community. He also felt very close to his School Resource Officer while in school. 

 

Outside of work, Deputy DeGood is a proud father of one daughter and a loving fiancé, Together, the family share a small zoo, consisting of three dogs, five cats, six lizards, and twenty-eight snakes.
