Man shot in Mayflower

On 2.12.16, at approximately 8:10 am, an Arkansas State Police trooper made a traffic stop on Interstate 40 westbound at approximately the 132 mile marker. The driver of the vehicle, Ronald Branscum advised he had been shot, and was on his way to the hospital.  MEMS transported Branscum to Conway Regional ER for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot to his hip.

 

FCSO Deputies were notified the incident occurred at 11 Grassy Lake Rd. (Grassy Lake Apartments), Mayflower. Deputies were able to determine through interviewing Branscum the shooting suspect, Randall Chandler was sitting in the passenger seat of his car, stuck a .45 caliber pistol to his hip and shot him, then fled on foot.

 

Deputies are seeking the whereabouts of Randall Chandler. Chandler could still be armed with a pistol.  Chandler was seen by family members leaving in an unknown make/model white pickup truck in the Mayflower area.  Deputies and investigators have searched the area and are still in the area looking for Chandler at the time of this release.
