Happy Independence Day, Faulkner County!

07/04/2023

Happy Independence Day, Faulkner County! On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence, announcing the colonies’ separation from Great Britain. Philadelphians marked the first anniversary of American independence with a spontaneous celebration, and, by the 1870s, the Fourth of July was the most important secular holiday on the calendar. Interestingly, Congress did not pass legislation declaring Independence Day as a federal holiday until June 28, 1870.

As a friendly reminder, the Faulkner County Courthouse & Administrative Offices are closed today, Tuesday, July 4, 2023, in honor of Independence Day. As always, our deputies remain available should you need our assistance during this time. If you have an emergency, please call 911. For non-emergencies, please contact dispatch at 501-328-5906. The Faulkner County Courthouse & Administrative Offices will reopen at 8:00am on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, for normal business hours.
