***Updated 2 Arrested, 1 Charged with Attempted Capital Murder

12/16/2015

On 11/4/15, Faulkner County Deputies responded to a location in Faulkner County for a report of Battery. Deputies located a victim whose face was covered in blood and was complaining of a lot of pain.

On the evening of 11/3/15, Brandon Singleton called the victim and requested a ride home. According to the victim, he picked Singleton up at the “8 Mile Store” and was directed to pull in a driveway of what appeared to be an abandoned house trailer on the corner of Beryl Rd. and Allen Dr.  Singleton got out of the vehicle and approached the driver side for what the victim thought to be an expression of appreciation, a handshake.  Rather than a handshake, Singleton struck the victim on the side of the head with a blunt object.  The victim went on to say he didn’t remember how he got out of the car after the first blow to the head.  He stated there were two other subjects in a vehicle at the residence that were waiting upon their arrival, and thinks that all three individuals beat him and told him multiple times “he was going to die.”  The victim stated while in the woods, the three suspects were looking for him, and he heard them saying they couldn’t let him get off the hill. The victim reported his wallet, containing money, credit cards, etc. were taken as well as his cell phone and vehicle.

At some point during the encounter, the victim was able to run into the wood line to evade any further physical harm. Later he was able to walk to a residence to request help.  The victim was transported to Conway Regional Medical Center for various injuries

On 11/6/15, Federal Marshals were able to locate and transport Brandon Singleton to FCSO Unit 2. After further investigation, FCSO Investigator Kandis Rikard was able to place Melissa Cannon at the scene the evening of the incident, and file charges.
