Please join us in congratulating Deputy Stephen Canino, recipient of the Wayne Hartness Merit Award from the Wooster Fire Department. The award, named for late Wooster Fire Department Captain Wayne Hartness, is presented each year to someone who has given exemplary service to the Wooster Fire Department and community. Deputy Canino has worked with the Wooster community and fire department for several years, and he began serving as the School Resource Officer for Wooster Elementary School this past year.

In Deputy Canino's award recognition, the Wooster Fire Department stated, "As the SRO, Deputy Canino spends his time on-campus performing a variety of tasks and projects related to safety and security. These topics weigh heavily on the hearts and minds of the faculty and staff at the school... He serves as a friendly and positive role model for the students. We are fortunate to have him at the school and partnering with us to keep everyone safe."
