Update on January 14, 2023, at 4:30pm: On January 14, 2023, at approximately 12:20pm, a shooting occurred on the westbound ramp of I40. Multiple shots were fired, and a male victim has been transported to a local hospital for trreatment. The current condition of the male victim is unknown at this time. The Mayflower Police Department is seeking the public assistance in locating a suspect, believed to be a black male driving a silver or gray four-door car. The suspect, last seen wearing a blue hoodie, left the scene headed westbound on I40. Traffic Update at 2:30pm: The westbound ramp is now open. 

The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office is currently assisting the Mayflower Police Department on scene of a shooting. The scene has been secured, and there is no evidence to suggest a threat to the public at this time. Please expect traffic delays throughout Mayflower and I40 at this time. The Westbound I40 ramp is currently closed to traffic. As a result, we encourage the public to utilize alternative travel routes if possible. As this is an ongoing investigation, no additional details will be released at this time.
