Scam Alert

Faulkner County Sheriff's Office is asking citizens to please be aware of spoofed emails that appear to come from familiar or trusted individuals that are actually fraudulent. Scammers often impersonate coworkers, friends, or your local elected officials to gain access to sensitive information or prompt urgent action. We have received reports of several fraudulent spoofed emails appearing to come from local elected officials recently.

1. The following tips will assist you in staying safe:
   Double check the sender's email address for subtle misspellings or unusual domains.
2. Be cautious of unexpected attachments or links. Never click the links in these emails.
3. Watch for urgent or unusual requests, especially involving money or personal information.
4. When in doubt, verify the message through a separate, trusted method (call or text the person directly)
