Faulkner County AR- Sheriff’s Office Investigates Texas Man’s Death

The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the death of a Texas man, Austin Michael Dodson (24) which occurred on March 17th, 2018.

A deputy with the Sheriff’s Office was working the Flux Festival off duty at Cadron Creek Outfitters on Cargile Ln. Greenbrier, AR.

The deputy was contacted by one of the Flux security personnel (Anthony Paul Flick) at approximately 11pm, and was told there was a problem with one of the festival attendees. Flick told the deputy the man was asleep in the road.

The deputy went with Flick to where the man was located and noticed he was unresponsive. After closer examination, the deputy noticed his face was discolored and he was not breathing. The deputy immediately called for first responders, and festival staff started CPR until first responders could arrive. Dodson was transported to Baptist Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Coroner’s Office sent Dodson’s body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy. The Medical Examiners report determined Mr. Dodson’s death was caused by strangulation.

Through the investigation the Sheriff's Office has probable cause to believe that the Flux Security team’s actions resulted in the death of Mr. Dodson.

Anthony Paul Flick (34) was arrested by U.S. Marshalls in Anderson, Missouri for Manslaughter on March 29th. Flick is being held in Missouri and waiting extradition to Faulkner County at this time.
