Attempt to Commit Capital Murder Arrest

On Saturday, 1/21/17, the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible kidnapping on Brannon Landing, where a black male had been “forced” into a vehicle, and headed toward Hwy 365. Deputies were able to locate the described vehicle on Allen Drive where they located three subjects.

Deputies learned that a Michael Phillips and Tommy Phillips were suspected of having the kidnapping victim, as well as another man digging their own graves at gunpoint. The victims told deputies that Tommy Phillips fled into the woods. Deputies searched the area the victims described where this activity was taking place and found a shovel, a green chainsaw, a black axe, freshly disturbed dirt, and the beginnings of a hole in the ground.

Michael Phillips was arrested on the scene for kidnapping and criminal attempt to commit capital murder.
