Van Buren Man Arrested on Conspiracty to Commit Rape

During the morning hours of Tuesday, 8/9/16, 47 year old Michael D. McSpadden of Van Buren, Arkansas was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Rape, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

 

 On or about July 26th, 2016, FCSO Investigators began communicating with McSpadden after locating a suspicious online ad. Undercover investigators communicated with McSpadden via email and text message. During those communications, McSpadden is alleged to have made arrangements to travel to a predetermined location in Faulkner County for the purpose of sexual contact with an underage female. When McSpadden arrived at the predetermined location he was contacted by the FCSO and placed under arrest without incident.

 

At the time of his arrest, McSpadden was found in possession of a cellular device, condoms, multiple sex toys, approximately 1.1 grams of methamphetamine, and a loaded .22 caliber pistol.

 

McSpadden was booked in the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center with a $100,000 bond and a court date set for 9/19/16.
